Change your name
In official documents, we use your official surname. Do you want to change this name and/or your initials? This is how it works:
Changing your form of address and/or first name
Do you want us to address you differently in our letters or Bankmails? For example with a different form of address or with a different first name? Then click the 'Change name' button below. Then click 'Change' next to 'This is how you will be addressed by us' (preferred name).
Adding a partner’s surname
Do you want to add your partner's name to your official surname? You can arrange this yourself. Click the button 'Change name' below. Then click 'Change' next to 'This is how you will be addressed by us' (preferred name). Here you'll find the option to add your partner's name.
Changing your official first or last name
Your official name is the name registered with the government. You cannot update this yourself in our systems. Has your name officially changed? Please contact our Personal Data Service Desk. To update your name, we need an identity document that shows your citizen service number (BSN).
Don’t have this? Then we will gladly schedule an appointment for video banking. During this appointment, we will ask for proof of your name change. This can be provided through an additional document such as:
- Royal Decree
- Extract from the Personal Records Database (BRP)
- Court ruling
- Birth certificate with addendum
